1932 Barn Wedding | Kevin & Jessica
Oh where to begin? If there were a badge of honor for the couple who went through the MOST to have a 2020 Covid wedding…it would go to Kevin and Jessica. On September 25th, 2020, Kevin and Jessica said ‘I do’ for the second time….but let me explain just why. With Covid wreaking havoc on the entire world and ALL things wedding, Jessica and Kevin’s original wedding date of May 2, 2020 was not going to be possible. After super strict restrictions were mandated, cancelling and rescheduling of plans and LOTS of tears, Kevin and Jessica ultimately decided to postpone their May date…until they had a change of heart and realized how important the date was so decided to keep a super low key, 10 person ceremony on the original date. It was BEAUTIFUL. Perfect weather, lots of emotions and of course, being surrounded by their very close immediate family.
Fast forward to August, when we scheduled Jessica’s bridal session. Covid was STILL impacting weddings tremendously here in North Carolina and as a precaution, Jessica decided to include Kevin in on the bridal session so they could ensure they had plenty of couples portraits IF Covid was still impacting the world on September 25th and they were not going to be able to have their friends and family in attendance.
August went and September came and by the skin of our teeth, North Carolina was able to open with a 50 person limit outdoors…thankfully The 1932 Barn is outdoors and was able to host a BEAUTIFUL event! So back to the present….Kevin and Jessica’s (2nd) Wedding Day!
1932 Barn Wedding | Getting Ready
Ya’ll know details make my photographer heart happy and with the first wedding date, we didn’t want to spend any time photographing invitations or anything because we were so limited on time. Well THIS time around, Jessica brought ALL the goods! As her and her girlfriends were getting dolled up, I went to town on the details! The 1932 Barn venue provides so many incredible things in their collections and Jessica’s eye for detail enhanced what we already loved about the barn.
1932 Barn Wedding | Ceremony
When the clock struck 4 PM, it was time for Jessica to tell the world her love for Kevin. The ceremony was so beautiful. Although it rained, Jessica and Kevin didn’t skip a beat, or a second, to tell one another just how much they loved each other. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. There may have been some laughter as well thanks to a Bee getting stuck in an umbrella…just sayin.
1932 Barn Wedding | Reception
Once the ceremony ended, and the skies parted (thank GOODNESS because the property is SO beautiful to photograph on and we wanted to take full advantage) the party started. Kevin and Jessica danced the night right out of their shoes. There was everything from Polish traditional songs to a Dirty Dancing moment, to slow dances and sweet kisses. The crew partied the night away and truly make THIS wedding, one for the books!
To Kevin and Jessica – If you can come out of 2020 the way you did, you can truly conquer the world! I am so honored to have been part of your days and capture your love story for the generations to come! It was a PLEASURE!!
XOXO – Katy
