This photo above is EXACTLY how I feel about being back at shooting weddings! Omgosh have I MISSED my couples! Due to Covid-19, basically all but a handful of weddings has postponed to 2021, but not Kathryn and Chris!! Kathryn and Chris opted to have a micro-wedding! Because North Carolina would not allow a gathering of more than 10 people, they decided to keep their original wedding date and celebrate their love with their family and an incredible spread of food and push their reception to next year…which made my heart so happy. Also, fun fact – Chris’s last name is Bauer and my maiden name is Bauer…there were TWO Kathryn Bauer’s in the house by the end of the night!!!

Covid 19 Micro Wedding – Kathryn & Chris
Our morning started at Kat’s parents house where the fabulous Lindsay Pizzuti of Mirror Bomb Studios beautified the ladies. Following some pampering and mimosas, we all headed to Myers Park United Methodist Church to get these two down the aisle. In order to calm some nerves, the couple opted for a first look (which I am A HUGE fan of) and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the area. The immense joy you can see and feel on Kat and Chris’s face when they saw each other for the first time was incredible. I can still hear the laughter today.
Myers Park United Methodist Church – Wedding Ceremony
One of my absolute favorite churches in Charlotte is Myers Park United Methodist Church. I absolutely live for shooting weddings there. The intimate nature of the church, the way the light falls through the window panes, the rich colors in the room…I just love it. As the clock struck 5:30, it was time for Kathryn to walk down the aisle. Because Myers Park United Methodist Church is so amazing, they allowed for a live stream of the event so all of Kat and Chris’s friends and family who could not attend could take part in this momentous day. The piano started playing and Kathryn’s father took her by the arm, smiling ear to ear, she walked down to her forever. It was the perfect.
Intimate Covid 19 Micro Wedding – Reception
While guests made their way back to Kathryn and Chris’s beautiful Myers Park home, they were left awe struck when they arrived. Samie with Something Perfect Events transformed their backyard into something of a fairy tale. The cascading florals, romantic pink and gold tones and delightful sounds of the band serenading them set the tone for an incredible night. The newlyweds and guests dined on an amazing dinner compliments of Roots and spent the night in laughter and love.
Kathryn and Chris – I wish you a lifetime of happiness! It was an honor to be part of your special day!
XOXO – Katy
